Too Much Power, Too Little Demand – Germany’s electricity system under pressure

Germany’s energy transition has advanced rapidly, but the power market is struggling to keep up, as flexibility is lacking. With more renewable generation entering the system, periods of oversupply are driving extreme negative prices and putting pressure on transmission system operators to maintain grid stability in real time - often at significant cost.
