Slovakia faces hard landing from Russian gas exit

Slovakia was among the hardest hit European nations when Russian gas transiting via Ukraine ended at the start of this year. Together with Hungary, the two countries have been outspoken in their criticism of EU plans to phase out all Russian gas by the end of 2027. But what has been the impact on supply and costs so far, and what can – or should – Slovakia do to mitigate this?
