Norway’s energy minister shrugs off criticism of fixed power price

Norway’s minority government plans to introduce a fixed power price of EUR 34/MWh from 1 October, a proposal that has been strongly criticised by its neighbours Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Despite this, Norway’s energy minister Terje Aasland is standing fully behind the decision. As things stand, it seems very likely that this populist move will be adopted by the Norwegian parliament and enter into force on 1 October. Reporting by Gert Mollestad, Editor Norway, Montel.
