There is some concern that the UK’s limited gas storage capacity and growing reliance on imports leave it vulnerable to supply disruptions and price spikes. Projects like the Bains redevelopment, in the East Irish Sea, may offer future relief, but will not arrive soon. In the meantime, reducing dependence on gas in power generation and accelerating the renewables rollout will be crucial in stabilising prices and ensuring energy security.
