Data centres – From grid burden to flexible asset?

In cities like Dublin, London, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam, data centres already consume 40-80% of electricity and that power demand is expected to rapidly increase in the years ahead. However, these power-hungry facilities may also have a silver lining. They could actually help stabilise the grid by providing demand response flexibility.
