Could Norway’s fixed-price power scheme deepen Nordic hydro, wind woes?

Although Nordic wholesale power prices are already expected to rise around 30% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 due to lower hydropower reserves, Norway’s new fixed-price scheme, known as the “Norway price”, could push prices spikes even higher on cold days with little wind.
