Auction flop stalls Germany's offshore wind
2 views
Germany has ambitious plans to grow offshore wind as part of its efforts to secure 80% of its power from renewables by 2030. But a recent tender failed – a bad sign for an industry the country had hoped to grow from 9 GW at present to 30 GW by the turn of the decade. The industry says Germany is going about developing the sector the wrong way – and that time is running out to get investment back on track.
